いらなくなった昔のPCを処分したいと思ったが、2003年の11月から施行された
PCリサイクル法により、町のごみ処理場に持っていっても処分してもらえない
ので、処分方法をWebで調べてみる。
まずは、このサイトに行く。このサイトはおそらく各自治体で配布されている
パンフレットやポスターに掲載されているはずだ。

こちらのサイトで、個人の場合は家庭用PCリサイクルのボタンをクリックして
次へ進む。
左側のメニューで「私達がPCリサイクルを推進します」のページを選ぶと、
参加企業一覧が出るので、ここから購入した際のメーカページへ飛ぶ。
僕の場合は富士通製なので、富士通のサイトへジャンプ。ここからは
各メーカによって多少手順が変わると思う（がだいたい同じだろう）。
富士通の場合は、型番と住所・名前の登録をする。もちろん富士通の
登録ユーザ（AzbyClub）であればその登録番号を利用する。
次にPCリサイクルシールというものが貼ってあれば、処分費用は取られない。
PCリサイクルシールなんて5年以上前に購入したPCにあるわけないので、
処分費用を払わなければならない。
PC本体で3,150円（税込）。ちなみにディスプレイ付一体型だと4,200円。
この金額は法律で規定されているみたいでどのメーカも一緒だ。
うーん。捨てるのにお金を取られるのは多少理不尽な気がするが（しかも
5年前にはなかった法律だしなぁ・・・）まぁ仕方ない。
一通り入力をすると、後は振込用紙が送られてくるのを待ち、
それを使ってお金を振り込むと今度はゆうパックの送付用紙が
送られてくるらしい。梱包してその用紙を使って送れば作業は完了だ。
しかし、滅多にない作業とはいえ、面倒くさいな、コレ。
あとサイトのFAQにも出ているが、自作PCのリサイクルについては
購入した店に聞くか各自治体に処分方法を聞いてくれとなっている。
リサイクル法の主旨はメーカ側に処分の責任を課すということだった
気がするが（あんまり調べてないのでよくは知らないけど）結局
ユーザが一番苦労することになってるんじゃないのか？
ちなみに東京都は自作PCの回収手続きをするシステムがある。他県に
関してはどうなのだろうか？
